[421] "And thus, bhikkhus, should the combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) with the former offence (āpatti) be given. Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu Udāyī should approach the Saṅgha, arrange his upper robe over one shoulder, pay homage at the feet of the senior bhikkhus, sit down on his heels, raise his joined palms, and say thus:
'Venerable sirs, I fell into one offence—intentional emission of semen—concealed for a fortnight. I requested from the Saṅgha a fortnight's probation (parivāsa) for that one offence of intentional emission of semen concealed for a fortnight. The Saṅgha gave me a fortnight's probation for that one offence of intentional emission of semen concealed for a fortnight. While I was undergoing probation, I fell into one offence in the interim—intentional emission of semen—concealed for five days. I requested from the Saṅgha, for that one interim offence of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days, the sending back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassana). The Saṅgha sent me back to the beginning for that one interim offence of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. Venerable sirs, I request from the Saṅgha, for that one interim offence of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days, the combined probation with the former offence.'
It should be requested a second time; it should be requested a third time."
