[474] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu, while undergoing probation (parivāsa), becomes insane. Bhikkhus, the probation of one who is insane does not take effect. If he again becomes sane, that very former granting of probation stands for him. The probation that was granted is well granted; that which has been observed is well observed; the remainder should be observed.
