[476] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu, while undergoing probation (parivāsa), becomes afflicted by feeling (vedanaṭṭa). Bhikkhus, the probation of one afflicted by feeling (vedanā) does not take effect. If he later becomes free of the affliction of feeling, then for him that very same former granting of probation stands. The probation that was given is well given; what has been observed is well observed; the remainder is to be observed.
