[117] "And thus, bhikkhus, should it be turned upright. Bhikkhus, that Vaḍḍha the Licchavi should approach the Saṅgha, arrange his upper robe over one shoulder, pay homage at the feet of the bhikkhus, sit down on his heels, raise his joined palms in reverence, and address it thus: 'Venerable sirs, the Saṅgha has overturned the bowl (patta nikkujjita) against me; I am debarred from association with the Saṅgha. Venerable sirs, I am conducting myself properly, I have lowered my crest (lomaṃ pātemi), I am conducting myself so as to make amends; I ask the Saṅgha for the turning upright of the bowl (pattukkujjana).' It should be requested a second time; it should be requested a third time."
