[136] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu was sick and was not able to walk about without a staff (daṇḍa). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow the giving of the authorization of a staff (daṇḍasammati) to a sick bhikkhu."
