[152] Now at that time the group-of-six bhikkhus had their hair cut with scissors. People looked down upon them, criticized, and spread it about, saying, "… just like householders who enjoy sensual pleasures …" … They informed the Blessed One of this matter. … "Bhikkhus, hair is not to be cut with scissors. Whoever should have it so cut commits an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
