[188] Now at that time the Venerable Sāriputta was afflicted with wind in the belly. Then the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna approached the Venerable Sāriputta, and having approached, said this to the Venerable Sāriputta: "Formerly, friend Sāriputta, when you had the affliction of wind in the belly, by what means did you find ease?" "By garlic, friend." They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow garlic to be eaten on account of illness."
