[223] Now at that time the whitewash (setavaṇṇa) would not adhere to a rough wall. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow you, having applied a lump of husk-clay (thusapiṇḍa) and having pressed it smooth with a trowel (pāṇikā), to lay on the whitewash."
