Vinaykathā

[285] Now at that time, many bhikkhus, standing in the presence of the Venerable Upāli while awaiting the recitation (uddesa), grew weary. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow sitting down together with those entitled to a seat of equal rank (samānāsanika)."
