[301] Now at that time bhikkhus, having taken on building work (navakamma), reserved [the lodging] for all time, barring others from it. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, one who has taken on building work should not reserve [the lodging] for all time; whoever should so reserve it commits an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). Bhikkhus, I allow it to be reserved for the three months of the rains, but not to be reserved during the [remaining] season (utukāla)."
