[31] Now at that time the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna and the Venerable Piṇḍola Bhāradvāja, having dressed in the morning and taken bowl and robe, entered Rājagaha for alms. Now the Venerable Piṇḍola Bhāradvāja was both an arahant (arahā) and one possessed of psychic power (iddhi); the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna too was both an arahant and one possessed of psychic power. Then the Venerable Piṇḍola Bhāradvāja said this to the Venerable Mahāmoggallāna: "Go, friend Moggallāna, take down that bowl; that bowl is yours." And the Venerable Moggallāna said this to the Venerable Piṇḍola Bhāradvāja: "Go, friend Bhāradvāja, take down that bowl; that bowl is yours." Then the Venerable Piṇḍola Bhāradvāja, rising up into the air, took that bowl and circled Rājagaha three times.
