[328] Then it occurred to the bhikkhus who were meal-assigners (bhattuddesaka): "How, indeed, should a meal be assigned?" They informed the Blessed One of this matter. "Bhikkhus, I allow a meal to be assigned by attaching [markers] to a ticket (salākā) or to a strip of cloth (paṭikā), and then detaching them."
