[332] "And thus, Bhikkhus, should he be agreed upon. First the bhikkhu should be asked. Having asked him, the Saṅgha should be informed by a competent and capable bhikkhu:
'Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. If it is the right time for the Saṅgha, the Saṅgha should appoint the bhikkhu named so-and-so as distributor of trifles (appamattakavissajjaka). This is the motion (ñatti).
'Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. The Saṅgha appoints the bhikkhu named so-and-so as distributor of trifles. To whatever venerable one the appointment of the bhikkhu named so-and-so as distributor of trifles is agreeable, let him be silent; whoever does not approve, let him speak.
'The bhikkhu named so-and-so has been appointed by the Saṅgha as distributor of trifles. It is agreeable to the Saṅgha; therefore it is silent. Thus do I hold it.'"
