[335] "Bhikkhus, he should be appointed in this way. First, the bhikkhu should be asked. Having asked him, a competent and capable bhikkhu should inform the Saṅgha:
'Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. If it is the right time for the Saṅgha, the Saṅgha should appoint the bhikkhu named so-and-so as supervisor of novices (sāmaṇerapesaka). This is the motion (ñatti).
'Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. The Saṅgha appoints the bhikkhu named so-and-so as supervisor of novices. Whichever venerable one approves of the appointment of the bhikkhu named so-and-so as supervisor of novices, let him remain silent; whoever does not approve, let him speak.
'The bhikkhu named so-and-so has been appointed by the Saṅgha as supervisor of novices. It is approved by the Saṅgha; therefore it is silent. Thus do I hold it.'"
The third recitation section (bhāṇavāra) is finished.
The Senāsana Khandhaka, the sixth, is finished.
