[4] Now at that time the group-of-six (chabbaggiyā) bhikkhus, while bathing, bathed in an improper place. People complained, criticized, and spread it about, … "just like householders who enjoy sensual pleasures." Bhikkhus heard those people complaining, criticizing, and spreading it about. … Then those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Is it true, as they say, bhikkhus, …?" "It is true, Blessed One." … Having rebuked them and given a Dhamma talk, he addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, one who is bathing should not bathe in an improper place. Whoever should so bathe commits an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
