[479] What are the six suspensions of the Pātimokkha (pātimokkhaṭṭhapana) that are not in accordance with the Dhamma (adhammika)? One suspends the Pātimokkha for a groundless (amūlika) failure in virtue (sīlavipatti) that has not been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha for a groundless failure in virtue that has been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha for a groundless failure in conduct (ācāravipatti) that has not been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha for a groundless failure in conduct that has been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha for a groundless failure in view (diṭṭhivipatti) that has not been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha for a groundless failure in view that has been committed. These are the six suspensions of the Pātimokkha that are not in accordance with the Dhamma.
