[528] Now at that time, a formal act (kamma) was not performed by bhikkhus for the bhikkhunīs. … Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a formal act to be performed for the bhikkhunīs."
Then it occurred to the bhikkhus: "By whom, then, should a formal act for the bhikkhunīs be performed?" Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow a formal act for the bhikkhunīs to be performed by bhikkhus."
