[538] Now at that time the Venerable Udāyi, having suspended the exhortation (ovāda), set out on tour. The bhikkhunīs complained, criticized, and spread it about, saying: "How can Master Udāyi, having suspended the exhortation, set out on tour?" … They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, one should not set out on tour having suspended the exhortation; whoever should set out commits an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
