[547] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu was sick. The bhikkhunīs approached him and said this: "Venerable sir, accept the exhortation (ovāda)."
"Sisters, I am sick; how can I accept the exhortation?"
"Venerable sir, accept the exhortation, for it has been laid down thus by the Blessed One: excepting a fool, the exhortation must be accepted by the rest."
They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow the exhortation to be accepted by the rest, excepting a fool and excepting one who is sick."
