[653] "Venerable sir, is the two-fingerbreadth practice (dvaṅgulakappa) allowable?"
"What, friend, is the two-fingerbreadth practice?"
"Venerable sir, is it allowable to eat a meal at the wrong time, when the shadow has passed beyond two fingerbreadths?"
"Friend, it is not allowable."
"Where was it prohibited?"
"At Rājagaha, in the Suttavibhaṅga."
"What offense does one commit?"
"A pācittiya for eating at the wrong time."
"Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This second matter has been decided by the Saṅgha. Thus this matter is contrary to the Dhamma, contrary to the Vinaya, deviating from the Teacher's instruction. I set down this second voting ticket (salākā)."
