[661] "Venerable sir, is gold and silver (jātarūparajata) allowable?"
"No, friend, it is not allowable."
"Where was it prohibited?"
"At Rājagaha, in the Suttavibhaṅga."
"What offense does one commit?"
"A pācittiya offense for the accepting of gold and silver."
"Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This tenth matter has been decided by the Saṅgha. Thus this matter, too, is contrary to the Dhamma, contrary to the Vinaya, departing from the Teacher's instruction. I put down this tenth voting ticket (salākā)."
