[1112] How does one, thinking, "I have gained a faction," despise another faction?
Here someone has gained a faction, has gained a following, has a faction, has relatives. Thinking, "This one has not gained a faction, has not gained a following, has no faction, has no relatives," despising him, he declares what is not Dhamma to be Dhamma; he declares Dhamma to be not Dhamma; … he declares a grave offence (duṭṭhullā āpatti) to be a non-grave offence; he declares a non-grave offence to be a grave offence. Thus, thinking, "I have gained a faction," one despises another faction.
