[1174] "Venerable sir, how many are the things not left over (anatiritta)?"
"Upāli, these five are not left over. Which five? It has been done without being made allowable (kappiya); it has been done without being formally received; it has been done without being lifted up; it has been done outside hand's reach (hatthapāsa); and it has not been said, 'All this is enough.' These, Upāli, are the five that are not left over.
"Upāli, these five are left over (atiritta). Which five? It has been done having been made allowable; it has been done having been formally received; it has been done having been lifted up; it has been done within hand's reach; and it has been said, 'All this is enough.' These, Upāli, are the five that are left over."
