[1220] "Venerable sir, how many are the explanations of the Vinaya (vinayabyākaraṇa) that are not in accordance with the Dhamma?"
"Upāli, there are these five explanations of the Vinaya that are not in accordance with the Dhamma. What five? Here, Upāli, a bhikkhu represents what is not Dhamma as Dhamma; represents Dhamma as what is not Dhamma; represents what is not Vinaya as Vinaya; represents Vinaya as what is not Vinaya; lays down what has not been laid down and abolishes what has been laid down. These, Upāli, are the five explanations of the Vinaya that are not in accordance with the Dhamma.
"Upāli, there are these five explanations of the Vinaya that are in accordance with the Dhamma. What five?
