[1349] How do formal acts (kamma) fail with respect to the motion (ñatti)? Formal acts fail with respect to the motion in five ways: one does not touch upon the matter (vatthu), one does not touch upon the Saṅgha, one does not touch upon the person, one does not touch upon the motion, or one sets forth the motion afterwards. In these five ways formal acts fail with respect to the motion.
