[309] Having directed [the roofing] for two or three courses (pariyāye), one directing beyond that commits (āpajjati) two offenses (āpatti): while he is directing, in the act itself there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); when it has been directed, there is an offense of pācittiya.
