[490] On account of boasting of a superhuman state (uttarimanussadhamma) that is non-existent and unreal, how many offenses (āpatti) does one commit? On account of boasting of a superhuman state that is non-existent and unreal, one commits three offenses: one of evil desires, overcome by desire, boasts of a superhuman state that is non-existent and unreal — an offense of pārājika; one says, "The bhikkhu who dwells in your dwelling is an arahant" — when the one addressed understands, an offense of thullaccaya; when he does not understand, an offense of dukkaṭa. On account of boasting of a superhuman state that is non-existent and unreal, one commits these three offenses.
