[247] Boastfully claiming a superhuman state (uttarimanussadhamma) that is non-existent and untrue, how many offenses (āpatti) does one commit? Boastfully claiming a superhuman state that is non-existent and untrue, one commits three offenses: being of evil wishes, overcome by desire, he boastfully claims a superhuman state that is non-existent and untrue — an offense of pārājika; he says, "The bhikkhu who dwells in your dwelling is an arahant" — when the hearer understands, an offense of thullaccaya; when the hearer does not understand, an offense of dukkaṭa. Boastfully claiming a superhuman state that is non-existent and untrue, one commits these three offenses.
