[749] A bhikkhunī who has completed twelve years (of standing), but has not been authorized (asammatā) by the Saṅgha, in sponsoring an ordination (vuṭṭhāpeti) commits two offenses (āpatti): in the act of sponsoring the ordination, for the effort (payoga) there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); when the ordination has been completed, there is an offense entailing expiation (pācittiya).
