[829] Acting as a go-between (sañcaritta), a hut (kuṭi), a dwelling (vihāra),
washing [a robe], and accepting [a robe],
asking [for a robe], and [accepting] beyond that when it is brought,
by both [householders], and by a messenger;
silk (kosiya), pure [black wool], the two parts [of black wool],
six years, the sitting-rug (nisīdana);
"they neglect," and money (rūpiya),
both [rules on transactions] of various kinds;
[a bowl with] fewer than [five] mends, the rains-cloth (vassikasāṭikā),
thread, and by giving directions [to the weavers];
the door, giving [a robe], and sewing [a robe for a bhikkhunī],
cakes, requisites, and fire (joti),
a treasure (ratana), a needle[-case], and a bed,
cotton-down (tūla), the sitting-cloth, and the itch[-covering cloth],
and the rains-cloth, by the Sugata['s measure];
asking [for one thing], having another thing purchased,
two of the Saṅgha, of a great group two,
of an individual, the light [cloak], the heavy [cloak],
two on leftovers (vighāsa), and the [bathing] cloth,
and with an ascetic's robe (samaṇacīvara)—
these exactly fifty rules (dhammā)
arise from six grounds:
from body, not from speech and mind;
from speech, not from body and mind;
from body and speech, not from mind;
from body and mind, not from speech;
from speech and mind, not by body;
[and] they arise from the three grounds.
These have the six originations (samuṭṭhāna),
similar to [the rule on] acting as a go-between.
The Sañcaritta Origination is finished.
