[834] The journey (addhāna) [rule], the boat, fine [food],
[traveling] together with a woman, removing [hair in a confined place],
grain, and the invited [meal],
and the eight pāṭidesanīyas —
these fifteen training rules
arise from body, not from speech, not from mind;
[some] arise from body and speech,
[but] they do not arise from mind;
[some] arise from body and mind,
[but] they do not arise from speech;
[and some] from body, speech, and mind:
the originations (samuṭṭhāna) are fourfold.
Laid down by the Buddha's knowledge (ñāṇa),
the methods are the same as [those of] the journey [rule].
The Origination [in common with] the Journey [Rule] is finished.
