Samathasaṁmukhāvinayvāra

[895] Discipline (vinaya) is resolution in the presence (sammukhāvinaya); resolution in the presence is discipline. Discipline is decision by majority (yebhuyyasikā); decision by majority is discipline. Discipline is resolution through mindfulness (sativinaya); resolution through mindfulness is discipline. Discipline is resolution on account of past insanity (amūḷhavinaya); resolution on account of past insanity is discipline. Discipline is acting upon acknowledgment (paṭiññātakaraṇa); acting upon acknowledgment is discipline. Discipline is the further penalty (tassapāpiyasikā); the further penalty is discipline. Discipline is covering over as with grass (tiṇavatthāraka); covering over as with grass is discipline. The eleventh section, on settlement and resolution in the presence (samatha-sammukhāvinaya), is concluded.
