[118] Or whereas some honorable ascetics and brahmins, while enjoying food given in faith, make their living by such debased arts (tiracchānavijjā), by wrong livelihood (micchājīva) — that is: predicting, "There will be good rainfall; there will be drought; there will be plenty of food; there will be famine; there will be security; there will be peril; there will be disease; there will be health" — or finger-reckoning (muddā), accounting (gaṇanā), computation (saṅkhāna), the composing of poetry, and cosmological speculation (lokāyata) — he refrains from such debased arts, from such wrong livelihood. This too pertains to his ethical conduct.
