[362] "Furthermore, Lohicca, here some teacher has reached the goal of the ascetic life (sāmaññattha) for the sake of which he went forth from the household life into homelessness. Having reached that goal of the ascetic life, he teaches the Dhamma to his disciples: 'This is for your welfare; this is for your happiness.' But his disciples do not wish to listen, do not lend an ear, do not set their minds on understanding; they proceed having turned aside from the teacher's instruction. He should be reprimanded thus: 'The venerable one has reached the goal of the ascetic life for the sake of which he went forth from the household life into homelessness. Having reached that goal of the ascetic life, you teach the Dhamma to your disciples: "This is for your welfare; this is for your happiness." But those disciples of yours do not wish to listen, do not lend an ear, do not set their minds on understanding; they proceed having turned aside from the teacher's instruction. Just as one might cut off an old bond only to make another new bond — of just such a kind, I say, is this evil thing rooted in greed (lobha). For what can one person do for another?'
This, Lohicca, is the third teacher in the world who deserves to be reprimanded; and when anyone reprimands such a teacher, that reprimand is true, correct, legitimate, and blameless.
