[54] Bhikkhus, as for those ascetics and brahmins who are endless equivocators (amarāvikkhepikā), who, when asked a question on this or that point, resort to verbal equivocation, to endless equivocation, on four grounds — that too is only the feeling of those worthy ascetics and brahmins who do not know and do not see; it is only the agitation and vacillation of those in the grip of craving (taṇhā).
