[438] A man sends a bhikkhu, saying: "Go, venerable sir; say to the woman of such-and-such a name who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by her sister … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by her relatives … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by her clan … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by dhamma … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is under guard (sārakkhā) … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by a penalty (saparidaṇḍā) … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by her mother … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by her father … to her who is protected by her brother and to her who is protected by her mother and father: 'Be, so it is said, the money-bought wives (dhanakkītā) of the man of such-and-such a name.'" He accepts, he inquires, he brings back the reply: an offence of saṅghādisesa.
