[464] A man sends a bhikkhu, saying: "Go, venerable sir, and say to the woman named so-and-so, one protected by threat of punishment (saparidaṇḍā): 'Be, it is said, the wife of the man named so-and-so — a wife bought with money (dhanakkītā), a wife who lives with him by her own desire (chandavāsinī), a wife who lives with him for wealth (bhogavāsinī), a wife who lives with him for cloth (paṭavāsinī), a wife by the water-bowl ceremony (odapattakinī), a wife whose head-pad has been set down (obhatacumbaṭā), one who is both a slave and a wife, one who is both a servant and a wife, one carried off under the flag (dhajāhaṭā), and a momentary wife (muhuttikā).'" He accepts, he inquires, he brings back the reply: an offense entailing Saṅghādisesa.
