[517] A bhikkhu, having given instructions, departs. He instructs: "Build a hut (kuṭī) for me," and he instructs: "Let it be on a designated site (desitavatthukā), involving no harm (anārambhā), and with a surrounding space (saparikkamanā)." They build the hut for him on an undesignated site, involving harm, without a surrounding space. He hears: "A hut, it seems, is being built for me on an undesignated site, involving harm, without a surrounding space." That bhikkhu must either go himself or send a messenger, [saying]: "Let it be on a designated site, involving no harm, and with a surrounding space." If he should neither go himself nor send a messenger, there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa).
