[518] A bhikkhu, having given instructions, departs; he instructs: "Build a hut for me," and he instructs: "Let it be to the proper measure, without harm (anārambhā), and with a surrounding space (saparikkamanā)." They build a hut for him exceeding the measure, involving harm, without a surrounding space. He hears: "A hut, it is said, is being built for me exceeding the measure, involving harm, without a surrounding space." That bhikkhu should either go himself or send a messenger, [saying:] "Let it be to the proper measure, without harm, and with a surrounding space" … "Let it be to the proper measure and without harm" … "Let it be to the proper measure and with a surrounding space" … "Let it be to the proper measure." If he should neither go himself nor send a messenger, there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa).
