Vinayapiṭaka · Bhikkhu Vibhaṅga (1) · Vol. 1 · Section 572

[572] "Pretext of birth (jātileso)" means: a khattiya has been seen committing an offense entailing defeat (pārājika). Having seen another khattiya, [the bhikkhu] accuses him: "A khattiya was seen by me — you have committed an offense entailing defeat; you are not an ascetic, you are not a son of the Sakyan; there is no observance day (uposatha), invitation (pavāraṇā), or act of the Saṅgha (saṅghakamma) together with you" — there is an offense entailing initial and subsequent meetings of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa) for each utterance. A brāhmaṇa has been seen … A vessa has been seen … A sudda has been seen committing an offense entailing defeat. Having seen another sudda, he accuses him: "A sudda was seen by me — you have committed an offense entailing defeat; you are not an ascetic, you are not a son of the Sakyan … or act of the Saṅgha together with you" — there is an offense entailing initial and subsequent meetings of the Saṅgha for each utterance.
