[80] Householders, there are these five benefits (ānisaṃsa) for one of virtue (sīla), through accomplishment in virtue (sīlasampadā). What five?
Here, householders, one of virtue, accomplished in virtue, attains a great mass of wealth on account of heedfulness (appamāda). This is the first benefit for one of virtue, through accomplishment in virtue.
Furthermore, householders, of one of virtue, accomplished in virtue, a good report of fame spreads abroad. This is the second benefit for one of virtue, through accomplishment in virtue.
Furthermore, householders, one of virtue, accomplished in virtue, approaches whatever assembly he approaches—whether an assembly of khattiyas, an assembly of brahmins, an assembly of householders, or an assembly of ascetics—confident and unabashed. This is the third benefit for one of virtue, through accomplishment in virtue.
Furthermore, householders, one of virtue, accomplished in virtue, dies unconfused. This is the fourth benefit for one of virtue, through accomplishment in virtue.
Furthermore, householders, one of virtue, accomplished in virtue, with the breaking up of the body, after death, is reborn in a good destination, a heavenly world. This is the fifth benefit for one of virtue, through accomplishment in virtue.
These, householders, are the five benefits for one of virtue, through accomplishment in virtue.
