[278] There are, friends, five teachings (dhammā) rightly proclaimed by that Blessed One who knows and sees, the Arahant, the Perfectly Awakened One. Concerning these, all should recite together in concert … for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of gods and humans. What are the five? The five aggregates (pañcakkhandhā): the aggregate of form (rūpakkhandha), the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha), the aggregate of perception (saññākkhandha), the aggregate of volitional formations (saṅkhārakkhandha), and the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha).
