[304] There are, friends, six dhammas rightly proclaimed by that Blessed One … the Fully Awakened One. Therein all should recite in concert … for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of gods and humans (devas). What six? Six internal sense bases (āyatana): the eye base (cakkhāyatana), the ear base, the nose base, the tongue base, the body base, and the mind base.
