[119] Then, not long after Vassakāra the brahmin, the chief minister of Magadha, had departed, the brahmin Gopaka-Moggallāna said this to the venerable Ānanda: "The question which we asked the worthy Ānanda — that the worthy Ānanda has not answered for us."
"Did we not say to you, brahmin: 'There is not, brahmin, even a single bhikkhu who is endowed in each and every way, in every respect, with all those qualities (dhammas) with which the Blessed One was endowed — he who was the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One. For the Blessed One, brahmin, was the arouser of the unarisen path (magga), the producer of the unproduced path, the declarer of the undeclared path; he was the knower of the path, the discoverer of the path, the one skilled in the path. And the disciples now dwell following that path, becoming endowed with it afterwards.'"
The Gopakamoggallāna Sutta, the eighth, is finished.
