[150] And how, bhikkhus, is a true person (sappurisa) one who has the view of a true person? Here, bhikkhus, a true person holds a view such as this: 'There is what is given, there is what is sacrificed, there is what is offered; there is fruit and result of actions well done and ill done; there is this world, there is the other world; there is mother, there is father; there are beings spontaneously reborn (opapātika); there are in the world ascetics and brahmins who fare rightly and practice rightly, who, having themselves realized this world and the other world by direct knowledge (abhiññā), make them known.' Thus indeed, bhikkhus, a true person is one who has the view of a true person.
