[292] "So it was then, Bhaggava, just as you say:
formerly you were the potter Ghaṭīkāra in Vebhaḷiṅga;
you were a supporter of your mother and father, a lay follower (upāsaka) of Kassapa;
abstaining from sexual intercourse, you were one who lived the holy life (brahmacārī), free from the carnal (nirāmisa);
you were my fellow villager; in the past you were my friend."
Such was the meeting of those friends of old,
both of them inwardly developed (bhāvitatta), bearing their final bodies.
