[275] And what, bhikkhus, is the portion of identity (sakkāyanta)? It should be said: the five aggregates subject to clinging (pañcupādānakkhandhā). What five? Namely: the aggregate of form (rūpa) subject to clinging, the aggregate of feeling (vedanā) subject to clinging, the aggregate of perception (saññā) subject to clinging, the aggregate of volitional formations (saṅkhārā) subject to clinging, the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇa) subject to clinging. This, bhikkhus, is called the portion of identity.
