[388] Sāvatthī. Then the Venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, the Venerable Rādha said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, it is said, 'subject to cessation (nirodhadhamma), subject to cessation.' What now, venerable sir, is subject to cessation?"
"Form (rūpa), Rādha, is subject to cessation; feeling (vedanā) …; perception (saññā) …; volitional formations (saṅkhārā) are subject to cessation; consciousness (viññāṇa) is subject to cessation. Seeing thus … he understands: '… there is no more for this state of being.'"

Māra and subject-to-Māra, and with the impermanent two more;
two spoken with suffering, and just so with the not-self;
destruction, vanishing, origination — with subject-to-cessation, twelve.
