[642] Therein, headman, as for that enjoyer of sensual pleasures (kāmabhogī) who seeks wealth righteously and without violence, and who, having sought wealth righteously and without violence, makes himself happy and satisfied, shares it, and does meritorious deeds—yet enjoys that wealth tied to it, infatuated, blindly attached, not seeing the danger in it, lacking the wisdom that discerns the escape: this enjoyer of sensual pleasures, headman, is praiseworthy on three grounds and blameworthy on one ground. On what three grounds is he praiseworthy? He seeks wealth righteously and without violence: on this first ground he is praiseworthy. He makes himself happy and satisfied: on this second ground he is praiseworthy. He shares it and does meritorious deeds: on this third ground he is praiseworthy. On what one ground is he blameworthy? He enjoys that wealth tied to it, infatuated, blindly attached, not seeing the danger in it, lacking the wisdom that discerns the escape: on this one ground he is blameworthy. This enjoyer of sensual pleasures, headman, is praiseworthy on these three grounds and blameworthy on this one ground.
