Moggallānasutta

Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 1161

[1161] "Bhikkhus, it is because these four bases of spiritual power (iddhipāda) have been developed and made much of that the bhikkhu Moggallāna, through the destruction of the taints (āsava), having realized for himself with direct knowledge (abhiññā) in this very life the taintless liberation of mind (cetovimutti) and liberation by wisdom (paññāvimutti), enters upon and dwells therein." (And thus the direct knowledges should be elaborated.)
